Our camping model for Troop 226 is changing to provide a path to more self-reliance, leadership and opportunity to grow self-confidence for our scouts. Going forward, we will employ a “backpacking” model rather than the very heavy-weight, group task effort we have used previously. As such, each scout must provide everything he needs for each camping trip and carry that equipment in his own backpack, including:
- 1-2 Man Tent (if desired, scout may also sleep outside)
- Backpacking Stove
- Sleeping Bag
- Food and Water
Important: For trips where there are not enough leaders signed up to take the entire troop at the time of reservation, space will be limited and priority will be given first to scouts who will be 18 before next summer AND are working on their Eagle rank (i.e., currently Life Rank), then on a first-come-first-serve order.
Upcoming Trips: Please pay the fees associated for each trip your scout plans to attend to secure his spot.
